The ‘80s was a vibrant era in almost everything, from fashion and fitness to huge hair and awesome music. It was also an era of unique words and phrases, the youngsters of the time developing their own rad lingo to differentiate themselves from older generations.
While many of these words and phrases were phased out as new decades took over, a lot of them are still in use today. Perhaps you yourself use a few from the list below on a daily basis without realizing they’re from the ‘80s.
1. What's Your Damage?
This phrase simply means, “What’s your problem?”
When used in a sentence: “I can't believe you are doing this. What's your damage?”
2. Rad
Many people still use this term, and it refers to something that’s cool and good. It’s the shorter form of radical.
When used in a sentence: “The Smiths’ new album is so rad!”
